BOOK - WONDERLAND

Wonderland is a collection of fashion photography, graphic design, illustration and fine art from various different sources. The images focus on "dreams, the imagination, the surreal and the devine". I have had this book for a while, but it is one of those you could pick up over and over again. Each image displays different qualities that make them equally fascinating, and for this reason it is impossible to choose one that stands out as my favourite. I would recommend this book to anyone, everyone that picks it up studies it cover to cover.

PAINTING - FIONA RAE

I'm Learning To Fly!!
Fiona Rae

I was re-introduced to the artist Fiona Rae whilst watching "Summer Exhibition" (Sunday 24th June, 7.00pm, BBC2). She had allowed the BBC in to her studio to film her whilst she worked. This allowed insite in to not only the techniques that she used but the wide range of things that have influenced her.

Fiona Rae also had work in Sensation (exhibition) in 1997. Where a group of young British artists created controversy that ensued London and New York.

TV ADVERT - VODAFONE

Vodafone UK is promoting its mobile internet services with “Raining Time”. As the advert progresses it begins to rain. But it soon becomes apparant that these are no ordinary drops of rain. As the drops turn to a shower and then to a downpour, we realise that it’s "raining time" as clockwork parts and whole watches are falling from the sky. The advert is telling us to make use of every minute of every day, 'The internet is now mobile. Vodafone. Make the most of now.”

The music used in the Vodafone Raining Time is “Little April Shower”, from Disney’s Bambi 2 Original Soundtrack.

This advert was developed at BBH, London, by creative director Nick Mahoney, creatives Simon Veksner and Nick Allsop, and agency producer Davud Karbassioun.
